Florida DCF Worker in Trouble
A dear friend of mine loves it when I discuss anything concerning Lutheran Social Services. Anarticle out of Florida came out today. It was buried in the news. I don't know how they manage to hide the information but they do. This article discusses an former employee of the Lutheran Services of Florida who was monitoring 19 cases involving 38 children. Beauplan Menard lied about visiting a child in foster care. He was subsequently fired for lying about the omission after admitting to this situation. This agency contracts with the Children's Network of Southwest Florida which further subcontracts out with Lutheran Social Services of Florida. Mr. Menard believes that since he did not get adequate training, the Lutheran social service office should also be charged in this matter as well.
Its funny that this is mentioned because this is not the only state where Lutheran Social Services has an issue with this. This spans many states. In Wisconsin, the Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan gets $70,000,000 a year from the state and federal governments. In Illinois, they get $69,000,000 a year from the state and federal governments. In many of the foster care situations involved Lutheran Social Services of some kind. Sadly there is many cases where the children have ended up dead. There is no accountability taken on the part of the agency. This agency gets over $14,000,000 from the state and federal government. They owe the American people an accounting of the monies spent on their programs because children are vanishing and dying.
There is other eery connections to this case because of the LSF CEO and President, Sam Sipes. He used to be the president of Lutheran Social Services of the South. This organization had connections to Tom DeLay who seemed to use his charitable organizations to combine charity, money, and politics. Tom DeLay ran two charitable organizations, Celebrations for Children and the DeLay Foundation for Life. His wife is also on the the board of directors while receiving an income from the lobbying firm, Washington Strategies,LLC. The Lutheran Social Services of the South would approve which foster children of Texas would use Delay's group home in the Rio Bend. It is a very tangled web that the former elected official weaved. I
It is a monster that has been created as result.
